Loveshoot in the charming misty Zaanse Schans, the Netherlands

Coming to us months ago, Y&N were already very sure that they would like the photoshoot to be at the Zaanse Schans with its iconic windmills. Because of the infamous location that has witnessed thousands of photoshoots (a few of those were also from us...), Tim and I really wanted to deliver to Y and NN something more special, more unique of themselves rather than the typical “a couple and the windmills” theme, but how?

In photography, contrast is important to separate the main subject from the surrounding environment, not only in the tonal differences but also in a lot of other aspects. We wanted to utilize the mid winter scenery with such tranquil mist to emphasize the warmth and vibrancy of the couple’s love for each other.

It was so so cold that day and we were all shaking under our thick coats, but it was all worth it, eh?
